Hello! I’m Cheryl Norris, a food blogger, professional food photographer, and recipe developer located in Portland, OR. I’m a self-taught baker who loves to educate her readers on the science of baking through informative and creative images.

I started my baking blog, Bakes by Brown Sugar, out of my love for baking and sharing food with others. But once I picked up my camera to start photographing food and sharing the images on social media I was hooked. I quickly learned that the right image could not only bring joy, but inspire people to get in the kitchen and create, and connect people with one another.

My goal is to create beautiful, colorful, and compelling food images using quality ingredients that invoke feelings of warmth and belonging. I’ve worked with major brands such as Bob’s Red Mill, Oregon Fruit Products, and California Grown. I enjoy helping my clients tell their unique stories and connect with their customers.
